Coach Riches has over 25
years of coaching experience. Riches cultivated his three years as the assistant coach at Marshall working, with
the Thundering Herd's defense and goalkeeping. He was also involved
in all aspects of the team's recruiting, marketing and advertising efforts
as well as serving as the team's academic advisor.
Before coaching at Marshall,
Riches was an assistant coach at his alma mater, West Virginia Wesleyan,
where they were national champions. Riches coached at WVWC during the 1994-95
season, in addition to working with the monitoring and directing of student-athletes
as an academic advisor.
With ODP experience in WV and
currently SC, Riches brings a wealth of experience to the Technical Soccer Clinics
LLC.
He combines his educational background and professional soccer experiences to create a nurturing, yet challenging environment for players wishing
to succeed.
Riches also has head coaching
experience at the club level, working with the Dream Team women's soccer
team in Charleston, W.V. which were State Champions for three consecutive years.
He is currently coaching director for the Lexington Soccer Boys Club in SC.
Riches had an outstanding career
at West Virginia Wesleyan where he was a two-time NAIA first-team All-American
and was named ISAA/adidas Goalkeeper of the Year in 1993. In his freshman
season (1990-91), Riches help lead WVWC to the NAIA National Championship.
